Semester Kickoffs (Music Teacher Tip #39)

Tips

Semester kickoffs have been a valuable decision for my studio. As a problem solver, my goal is to find win-win solutions that benefit both my students and their families. Years ago, I introduced semester kickoffs to ease students back into lessons after breaks.

Each semester has a different purpose. The Fall kickoff provides students with a chance to connect and enjoy music with friends, free from the stress of having to practice during that week. Spring kickoff in January focuses on goal-setting, teaching students how to set and implement goals for success in their music studies.

Semester kickoffs have truly been a win-win for my studio. Twice a year I am reminded of their value and am so grateful for them. I hope this tip will inspire some win-wins for your own studio.
