Many online music teachers have realized that the internet is a great tool for promotion. But, after you’ve designed a logo, created a great website, and figured out how to post on Instagram, you might feel stuck on how to find new online students.
With a little creativity, there are ways for you to find online students. That’s why Forte wants to give you three tips to help you expand your online studio and find new online students.
Encourage current students and parents to post online
Sometimes the best marketing is right in front of you! If you have a great relationship with your current students and parents, feel free to encourage them to post testimonials and recommend you online. For example, parents can recommend you as a music teacher in Facebook groups that often have thousands of members. And, while you definitely want testimonials on your website, your students mentioning you on their personal social media accounts can be even more effective. If one of your students posts a picture of you together, encourage them to include your social media handle or website link in the caption.
Create a business Nextdoor account
Nextdoor is an app that helps people discover events and news in their local neighborhood. While it’s known primarily for helping people connect with their neighbors, Nextdoor can also be a powerful promotional tool for online businesses. You can create a free business page and promote your studio further through free business posts as well. Furthermore, while Nextdoor focuses on local customers, it can lead to your neighbors telling others in their extended networks that you teach music online.
