This year my students will be using a brand new app that is out called HanonPlus. HanonPlus is by the same creators of SightReadPlus and SightRead minor. If you missed those reviews you can find them below.
HanonPlus has a very similar feel to the other two apps I mentioned, which is nice. I appreciate that it allows you to log in more then one user (up to 50 users!) so individual students in your studio can keep track of their progress.
You can use HanonPlus with an acoustic piano or keyboard. HanonPlus doesn’t require any connections as it simply uses the microphone to hear what students are playing. It listens for note and timing accuracy.
There are several options after logging into HanonPlus. Students can choose Major or minor keys. It has multi-key exercises and different rhythms are also available. Beginning rhythm patterns from quarter, eighth and dotted. Advance patterns such as eight, sixteenth and dotted.
I think the only thing that would give a little “bling” to this app is to include rhythm tracks.
HanonPlus is available for $7.99 and includes all the exercises. There are no additional in-app purchases needed. Everything is there and ready to play.
