Black Friday and Cyber Monday is coming up. This is a great time to put together a wish list and see what kind of awesome deals you can get for your studio as well. Plus don’t forget they make great end of the year tax deductions!
I wanted to share some of my favorite things you may want to consider adding to your wish list.
Here is a video where I highlighted some of these below!
To use with your students… (Here are a few things I have discovered this year on Amazon)
Fly Swatters– These are my all time favorite fly swatters! I like to use fly swatters for music games. (Students swat the answer) so when I saw these where you can actually see what they are swatting I was excited!
Crayola Rake– This is PERFECT to draw a staff on the sidewalk. Super easy! Little did Crayola know how happy this would make music teachers!
Cubes– I actually found several versions that I thought were pretty cool. But this one was my favorite because I can just insert actual existing cards in it if I wanted to.
This one was a runner up… Whiteboard Dice
Eggspert– One of my students favorites! I love that Eggspert includes 6 plus there are options to add more pods. Using Eggspert is a great way to quiz concepts, students LOVE it!
Write and Wipe Pockets– I have been using these pockets in my studio for a couple years now and let me tell you, they come in handy. But then I saw these particular pockets that included a place for the white board marker. Loved it!
Whiteboard Spinners– These spinners come in very handy. You just simply stick them on your magnetic whiteboard and spin! Super easy! (Also check out the transparent spinners farther down…)
Whiteboard Puzzle Pieces– I don’t have these (yet) but what fun can they be during private and group lessons. You can use these with rhythm math, how about writing a tempo word such as Adagio and having the student draw a picture like a turtle that goes with that word? The possibilities are endless! Just be aware that the pieces are small (2″x2″) and they don’t have edge and corner pieces included. I would personally use these more as matching puzzles similar to what I have available in my TpT store.
Musical Ice Trays– I saw these and thought what fun! You can make musical ice cubes for recitals. I haven’t tried it yet but I bet you can make chocolate molds in these as well! Just a little something “cool”! They sell it individually here or in a 2 pack here.
Catapult– You are probably asking, “now why would a teacher need a catapult?” Well for fun and games of course! As you probably know my theme this year is a medieval quest. I have some fun things in mind for our Christmas camp in a couple weeks. I’ll share more soon!
For the Teacher or Lab…
Pointer with sound affects– Save your back with pointers! Here is a fun one with sound affects.
Or a more traditional pointer one that has a nice extension.
Transparent Spinners– These are in my “basket” and are perfect for those downloadable games that you print but need a spinner. Just simply place it on top and you have an instant spinner! When these arrive they will have a special blue sleeve on them, don’t panic. Just peel it off.
Wireless MIDI Interface– No more cables to worry about in the lab room when students play Piano Maestro, Notion, etc…
Timer– If you have a tech lab, this is a great timer to have students use as it has two timers. One for a warning the time is coming up soon and also it can be used visually (by lighting up) and/or auditory.
Lavaliere Mic– Have you started doing video lessons yet or maybe you do Skype/FaceTime lessons? I like to use a mic so my audio is a little more clear. I have been happy with this one. Simply plug it into your phone, iPad, or whatever device you are using! Because the cord isn’t very long, I also bought an extension which is plenty long here.
Long Stapler– Hate when those music books break apart? This stapler has come in handy many times!
AirTurn Manos Universal Tablet Mount– This is what I use when I do my video lessons, Skype/Facetime, etc…
