Halloween Festival 2015

Events and Recitals

This last Saturday was my Halloween Festival. I was a little nervous weather wise if #1 it would be too hot (We are still getting 90 degree weather here in AZ- Crazy!) and #2 if it would rain during the festival. It ended up raining all morning long and then there was a break in the afternoon when the festival was. And I’m not kidding you, as soon as the last family stepped inside (I open the doors to have everyone go outside to eat goodies) it started pouring. So it all worked out. Though warmer than I would have liked, it was manageable.

I thought I would share what a typical Halloween festival looks like.

Halloween Festival is held in my home, so I decorate like crazy and take out all the furniture in my living room. I rent chairs and can fit up to 35 typically. I can have anywhere from 2-3 sessions. I break them up an hour apart.

I have my families bring in goodies to share, but every year I like to make something fun. My only requirement is it has to be easy and it has to be fun for Halloween. This year it was these fun donuts!

In between students performances I like do something fun to break it up a bit. After all it is a Halloween FESTIVAL! So this year I decided we were going to do some Halloween Trivia. I first just asked the question to see if anyone knew the answer. If nobody could get it, then we went to the multiple choice options. Whoever was first in getting the answer correct got a homemade popcorn ball! You can download the Halloween Trivia cards to use with your students or really whoever you would like for FREE here. Enjoy!

Halloween festival is one of my favorite events. It’s so much fun for both the students, their families and I. And as you can see, I even get into the dress up fun!

Are you doing anything fun for Halloween this month with your students? You can check out all my Halloween goodies that I have available on TpT here.

Nice! My studio will be having an Autumn & Tunes Festival (aka recital) THIS Saturday at my house outside! Students are encouraged to come and play any of their well learned pieces while families munch on snacks and sip on hot cocoa and coffee. i told parents to bring their lawn chairs and blankets as well. I’m going to have an arts and crafts table where people can make glittered pumpkins (thanks to Pinterest), trail mix bar, and more. It’s just going to be a nice get together/very informal recital. Hoping the weather will hold out (we’re having it at 6pm)! This is my first time doing this…please wish me the best lol!

I love that! Where do you live? A lot of people can’t do outside recitals this time of year. I hope the weather is perfect for you, it sounds like so much fun! Best wishes! 🙂

I live in Greenville, SC! The weather has been cool, but bearable. I don’t plan to have this event to last too long! No longer than an hour and a half. I hope it doesn’t rain either! Thank you for the well wishes!

Sounds like your studio had a lot of fun! Any chance you will tell what you used for donuts and where to find the stuff for the clueless like me? Love the donuts!!!

Thanks Coila. I just got glazed donuts and stuck plastic vampire teeth in the middle and chocolate chips for the eyes. Super easy! 🙂

I’m so clueless – where do i find vampire teeth? LOL And thanks for the delightful Halloween Trivia. I made something up years ago, but not half as interesting as yours! Thanks again for all your good ideas!

Pretty much anywhere that sells halloween stuff. I got mine at Walmart. The dollar store would probably have them too. They come in colors or clear which are usually glow in the dark. My Walmart just had the colored one’s. Glad you enjoyed the trivia questions! 🙂
