Just a few more days until December is over. Which means just a few more days to get those last minute tax deductions for the year. Here are a few of my recommendations, some of which are expiring soon!

For your education…

To use with your students… (Here are a few things I have discovered this year on Amazon)

Screen Shot 2014-12-27 at 7.59.38 PMFly Swatters– how cool are these fly swatters? I like to use fly swatters for music games. (Students swat the answer) so when I saw these where you can actually see what they are swatting I was excited!

Cubes– I actually found several versions that I thought were pretty cool. But this one was my favorite because I can just insert actual existing cards in it if I wanted to.

This one was a runner up… Whiteboard Dice

Timer– If you have a tech lab, this is a great timer to have students use as it has two timers. One for a warning the time is coming up soon and also it can be used visually (by lighting up) and/or auditory.

Screen Shot 2014-12-27 at 8.32.16 PMWrite and Wipe Pockets– I have been using these pockets in my studio for a couple years now and let me tell you, they come in handy. But then I saw these particular pockets that included a place for the white board marker. Loved it!

Screen Shot 2014-12-28 at 9.22.25 AMWhiteboard Puzzle Pieces– I don’t have these (yet) but what fun can they be during private and group lessons. You can use these with rhythm math, how about writing a tempo word such as Adagio and having the student draw a picture like a turtle that goes with that word? The possibilities are endless! Just be aware that the pieces are small (2″x2″) and they don’t have edge and corner pieces included. I would personally use these more as matching puzzles similar to what I have available in my TpT store.

Just for fun…

Screen Shot 2014-12-27 at 8.22.29 PMMusical Ice Trays– I saw these and thought what fun! You can make musical ice cubes for recitals. I haven’t tried it yet but I bet you can make chocolate molds in these as well! Just a little something “cool”! They sell it individually here or in a 2 pack here.

For the lab…

Screen Shot 2014-12-29 at 11.38.49 AMWireless MIDI Interface– I’m excited about this one. No more cables to worry about in the lab room when students play Piano Maestro, use Notion, etc… Just added it to my cart!

And then an oldie but goodie…

My #1 that I love to use with students has got to be Eggspert… you can’t go wrong. Before Eggspert I was using something similar that my Dad made years ago but it only included two buttons. I love that Eggspert includes 6 plus there are options to add more pods. Using Eggspert is a great way to quiz concepts, students LOVE it!

Well there you have it! If you are needing to sneak in some last minute tax deductions, these are some suggestions that I think you will enjoy!

I love the write and wipe pockets! I’m a travelling teacher and a standard whiteboard is too heavy in my bag. I bought them immediately and I’m excited! Thanks for the recommendation.
