Christmas Around the World: Israel and Hanukkah is part of a Christmas Around the World series that is available on Music Educator Resources.

 

In Israel, Christmas Day is not a public holiday. The Jewish population celebrate Hanukkah and some small Christian communities (such as Israeli Arab Christians in Bethlehem and Nazareth) celebrate Christmas. This resource explains the differences between the holidays and how each (Jews and Christians) would celebrate their holiday, etc.

 

This is not a lesson plan but an informational resource for students to learn from. It includes both a PowerPoint and narrated mp4 file.

    I thought you did a great job providing enough information on Israel. I am going to have kids research each country and every child does not have access to a computer. This is a great resource.
