Christmas Around the World is chock full of learning and fun set up to free you from any lesson planning! All that is done for you for up to a 4-hour camp or workshop. This unit combines world history with music activities.

 

Students will explore Christmas traditions from Africa, Israel, Germany, Mexico, Sweden and Japan. They will share traditions with each other from the United States and other countries. They will enjoy musical Christmas activities and games representing different countries and MUCH more!

    I have been wanting to do a holiday camp for a long time time now. Reading about taking the first two weeks to do so in December and then the rest of December off for me and my students motivated me to make it happen.     What a great way to learn about Christmas traditions around the world. It’s also a wonderful way to build community within my studio as students learn about what others do for this holiday. Lots of different uses for this packed resource – from games, to movement songs, to anthropology… I’ll be thinking about how I might use some of this for classes and our Winter celebration.
