Let’s Go To the Movies is a music camp or workshop program with over 8 hours of lesson plans to use with your students.

LEARN BEHIND THE SCENES | EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC | BE PART OF THE ACTION!

Give students an immersive experience into the world of silent movies and film music. Students will learn the process of creating a silent movie, from script writing to acting, and choosing appropriate music. They will also have the opportunity to play along with a silent movie.

Students will explore the history of film music industry, popular film composers, and the role of music in movies. They will see what goes on behind the scenes in music and why it plays such a vital role in the movie industry.

Let’s Go to the Movies is an 8-hour camp providing everything you need from lesson plans, materials checklist, worksheets, games, posters, and more! This summer camp is a student favorite that offers a unique and exciting opportunity for students to learn, experience, and be part of the action in the world of silent movies and film music.

    I just completed this workshop with my middle school piano students. I used quite a bit of Jennifer’s lesson plans but also added some ideas of my own. Jennifer was very thorough in these plans and there is so much material that it is difficult to get through it all. This is a GOOD thing because it allows you the freedom to choose what works best with your students. We had a blast during our workshop. Each day zoomed by and before we knew it, parents were at the door to pick up the students. I highly recommend this camp as a unique and fun alternative to a regular piano camp.

    I can’t wait to use this for a piano camp I am hosting this summer. So much information and put in a fun way! I plan to pair it with some composition writing the students will do and maybe we can create a mini movie using the techniques used in the movies. I can also see using it in the classroom setting for a composer series next year as well as for talking about music composition and appreciation. Thank you!!

    This is a great workshop! I have never had a workshop garner so much interest in such a short time. I am only doing a three hour day camp, and now I am wishing I had offered a longer one because it’s hard to choose between all the great activities!

    All my pupils thoroughly enjoyed doing this music camp. I managed to split the areas of work into 2 different levels and use it with different age groups. There was more than enough content in here to be used for 2 hours, for 3 days, and split between 2 groups.
