In Memory…

Misc.

Last week I lost a friend shortly after returning from conference. Her husband killed her. Michele was the sweetest person you would meet. Always smiling, serving others, a wonderful mother of 8 children. I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. It is such a tragic loss. She should be here today.

I’m posting this today because Michele’s brother-in-law has set up a GoFundMe account for Michele’s children. I really would like to see this funded. If you are able to donate, I will be happy to send you a brand new Easter themed game that really can be played whenever… Hop, Skip and Jump is a board game that reviews intervals. You can see it here.

After you donate to the GoFundMe account here, just send me an email: jennifer (at) foxxpianostudio (dot) com and I will email you the file as soon as I can.

Thank you in advance for helping if you can! I totally understand if you can’t.

And please, if you are a victim of domestic violence or know someone who is, please do whatever you can to get help and get out. Here is a 24/7 hotline. I know it’s not easy, but I never want to see another friend’s life cut short because of such a senseless and horrific act.

    Hi there,

I am so sorry to hear of this loss. I would like to write a piano piece in her memory, if possible. Do you have suggestions on how to work on this?

Thank you for sharing, this is such a tragedy yet there are many in the musical community that are banding together for her children.

    Yours Sincerely,

That is sweet of you to think of composing a piano piece in memory of Michele. Though I am not sure how to go about that…

I am so sorry. What a horrible tragedy. I will be praying for you, her dear friend, and for her children. What a special thing you are doing for her memory and for her children. I am unable to help financially at this time – but I can pray.
Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Romans 12:15 “weep with those who weep.” .
    My deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry for your loss but most of all, I am so sorry for the children and can only pray that they receive good counseling and lots of love from the rest of their family and friends. I have sent a memo to my ‘piano family’. Teaching music has given us all an extended family to share with and to get comfort from. Two years ago, we did a ‘play-a-thon’ to raise money for a lady who needed eye surgery. I have been working on a new project for next fall and I think doing a ‘play-a-thon’ for domestic abuse awareness will be our theme.

What a great idea for doing play-a-thons Jeannie! A lot of people have rallied around to make sure the children will be okay. Tonight a group of us will be making easter baskets for them. Thank you so much!

Very sorry to hear of this loss for you, those children, their family and friends and community.
Is there a way for a dinosaur to send the kids a donation with a good old fashioned check? How and to whom and to where?
